1. Information We Collect

When you create an account on ImpulseBuy, we collect your username, email address, and any optional profile information you choose to provide. Our optional analytics record deal interactions, landing paths, referring domains and paths, and campaign parameters (UTM source, medium, campaign, term, and content). Analytics use a browser activity identifier and can also be linked to your account when signed in. This information helps us improve the platform and provide a better user experience.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and maintain the ImpulseBuy platform, personalize your experience, and send you notifications about deals and account activity. Your data may also be used to analyze usage patterns, detect and prevent fraudulent activity, and improve our services. We will never sell your personal information to third-party advertisers.

3. Information Sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties except in limited circumstances. We may share data with service providers who help us operate the platform, such as hosting and analytics providers, subject to confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or to prevent fraud or other illegal activities.

4. Cookies and Tracking

Essential cookies support account and community functions and remember your analytics preference. Optional analytics are on by default for visitors to this site. ImpulseBuy records approved deal-activity events and first-touch/session attribution, linked with a browser activity identifier and, when signed in, your account. Choose Deny in Privacy choices to stop future optional collection, or Accept to explicitly enable it. Global Privacy Control keeps optional analytics off while active, even if you previously accepted.

When our referral pilot is enabled, a valid referral link can remember the referring member in a separate secure browser cookie for up to 30 days. The first valid referral wins; later links and direct visits do not extend that period. This follows your optional analytics preference, including its default-on state. Deny, withdrawal, or Global Privacy Control disables referral attribution and clears this cookie. It is also invalidated when your privacy choice changes. Attribution stays in this browser, including when signed out; it is not saved to your account or copied across devices. Referral attribution is separate from analytics event records.

An explicit opt-out is remembered in this browser until you change it or clear site storage. Its essential cookie is renewed for up to 400 days when used, and a localStorage preference restores the opt-out if that cookie expires. Browser limits and clearing site storage can remove these preferences; they do not apply automatically to other browsers. Activity identifiers last no more than 180 days.

Deny stops future collection and does not delete previously stored analytics. In Settings, Withdraw consent and erase analytics also attempts to delete retained rows linked to your signed-in account and current browser identifier. Anonymous rows whose browser identifier was already lost cannot be linked for immediate erasure. Scheduled retention removes deal-activity rows older than 90 days and attribution rows older than 180 days, subject to successful cleanup runs.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time through your account settings. You may also request a copy of all data we hold about you or ask us to restrict processing of your information. If you wish to delete your account entirely, please contact us and we will remove your data within 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirements.

7. Children's Privacy

ImpulseBuy is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has shared data with us, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. We will notify registered users of any material changes via email or through a prominent notice on the platform.
